How is your service different
from other scanning / archiving companies?
Since the services offered by other companies can
vary quite a bit, the combination of the characteristics
listed below reveal the uniqueness of Delta-T Digital
Archiving Ltd:
- We do not use proprietary software.
We archive drawings and documents with the easy-to-use, widely
distributed PDF format. Unlike the services offered by other
companies using proprietary software, you are not "stuck" with
us. You are also not required to purchase software or pay
maintenance fees when you choose Delta-T Digital Archiving
Ltd.
- We will only produce high quality archives.
Most companies scan documents and drawings at lower settings
or "automatic" settings that produce only readable results. At
Delta-T Digital Archiving Ltd, we will scan multiple times
until we find the settings that produce the highest quality
images. We scan drawings at 400 dpi (minimum) to produce
quality zoom features and to ensure that printouts of the
drawings are of the highest quality.
- We will only produce useful archives.
Most companies will deliver 1 file per drawing or document
that is inappropriately named. For example, for 500 drawings
archived, you may receive 500 files named "File001, File002"
or "A2.1, E3.2". At Delta-T Digital Archiving Ltd, We will
combine all related drawings and documents into a single file
for fast retrieval through indexing and keyword searches. All
drawings are book marked and appropriately named (e.g.
E3.2 - FIRST FLOOR PLAN - AREA C - LIGHTING).
- We rarely need assistance from you or your staff.
Because of our extensive knowledge of construction documents,
you do not have to spend your valuable time explaining how to
organize the documents and drawings. We can transform an
entire plan room into a searchable digital archive with little
or no assistance from you or your staff.

What is your turn-around time
for projects?
We can typically complete smaller projects (i.e. an Elementary
School with 150 - 200 drawings and 4,000 - 6,000 pages) in 1 -
2 weeks. Larger projects with 1,000 drawings or more and
20,000 pages or more can take 4 - 6 weeks. Obviously, the
turn-around time is dependent on the size of the project
(number of drawings, number of pages) and our current
workload. The turn-around time is also dependent on the type
of documents to be archived (drawings, submittal data,
specifications, O & M manuals, etc.).
^ FAQs
Can you archive old drawings
and documents?
Certainly. We have produced quality archives from
drawings dated from the early 1900s. We have also
produced quality archives from actual blueprints (with
white lines) and drawings on foam board, linen, and
discolored mylar. We will take the necessary steps to
protect your drawings (sleeve old drawings, tape torn
edges, etc.) before scanning.
^ FAQs
How much does your service
cost?
We provide quotes on a project basis. When a new
construction project is near completion, we are able to
determine the types of documents and an approximate
drawing and document count. At this time, we will
provide a Cost-Not-To-Exceed (CNTE) quote and expected
turn-around time for the entire project. Though we
quote project on a CNTE basis, we try our best to
complete the project under the quoted amount. For
projects that require a quote prior to construction,
contact us to discuss the project size, document
requirements, etc.
^ FAQs
Are there any hidden
fees?
Absolutely not. Since we archive using file formats that are
non-proprietary, there are never any costs for software
licensing, installation, or maintenance. We don't even charge
for additional CDs or DVDs. If you want additional copies of
your archived documents, feel free to copy the CDs or
DVDs you receive from us.
^ FAQs
Will I have to purchase
software or equipment to view the archived data?
Absolutely not. The archived drawings and documents
(PDF) can be viewed with the free Adobe Reader software
allowing any user with permission to view, search, and
print the files. Any computer or PDA with an operating
system compatible with the Adobe Reader can be used. A
copy of the Adobe Reader is provided with each archived
project.
^ FAQs
Do you only archive
construction documents?
Absolutely not. We can archive non-construction documents and
drawings. However, we focus on construction documents since
that is our industry of expertise.
^ FAQs
Can you archive documents
on-site?
We can archive documents on-site. However, we prefer to
archive all documents at our facility because of the added
cost of transporting and setting up large equipment.
